"fabulous fashions or festive decor to embroider, knit, crochet or weave"
here's the cover shot of one of my latest finds and new favorite craft book of all time (well, at least for this week). this one's all about all the stuff you can make with "hi straw" (that's what columbia-minerva called ribbon straw). many of the projects feature "hi straw perforated motifs" - better known as plastic canvas.
(from serendipity in hi straw published by the columbia-minerva corporation, 1970)

sometimes a few completed flowers are included with the vintage flower looms and instruction books that i come across. i just love that they have survived and that i can see firsthand all the different ways that they were made.
i've been saving them in a box. i was doing a little cleaning and reorganizing today and decided that they need to be in a place of honor. so i pinned them to this board and will hang it next to my work table for a little inspiration.
this makes me very happy! i can't stop watching it.
