1971 takahashi calendar

sorry but this was impossible to scan so i just took a quick shot with my crappy digital camera. i hope you are able to imagine just how breathtaking this yellow ochre and fluorescent yellow color combo is in person. i found this takahashi calendar last week when i was in san francisco. whoever did the graphics and illustration for takahashi deserves some sort of lifetime achievement award.

I miss Takahashi's wonderful stores in S.F. Their design team and color sense were impeccable. I still have a small Japanese bowl and a beaded coin purse I bought there in the late 1960"s.
