last week on martha the guest demonstrated how to make little bunnies using wool roving. the roving was wrapped around a little bunny "skelton" made using wire. while the guest was showing martha how to make the little wire shape martha said that it reminded her of alexander calder. i got the feeling that the guest had no idea what martha was talking about.
but anyway it reminded me once again how much i adore alexander calder. then a couple of days later i saw this blog post and started to think more about handmade kitchen tools and wondered why don't we see more of them.

There is a Calder exhibit on right now at the Seattle Art Museum. A friend went and said there is a film made by Calder that is playing in the exhibit and is totally worth seeing. I must get down there before it closes!
