margaret wentworth, big sur, california 1967

trained as a painter, margaret wentworth took up stitchery in 1960. a native californian margaret settled in big sur with her husband architect nataniel owings. together they campaigned to preserve big sur's scenic coastline. she is pictured here at her home in big sur with some of her stitcheries.
