a friend had a copy of this book and when i caught a glimpse of it out of the corner of my eye i instantly knew it was something special. it's not only a really nice cookbook to look at (the design and illustrations) but it also has some good recipes. and of course no cookbook is complete without a few words about cheese.
i love the minimal use of color in this book - the pages are off white, the type is orange & brown, the cover is orange & purple and the endpapers are purple (my least favorite color but i might be changing my mind). and i'm sure it's no coincidence that the author is wearing an orange turtleneck in the photo on the dust jacket.
the seasonal kitchen - a return to fresh foods by perla meyers, 1973
This cookbook needs to go in a kitchen with those Helvetica-labeled glass jars.

i love this book. totally adding Perla to the list of potential baby names... Not that that's something that's even remotely on the horizon though. ;)
