at the end of this very hectic day i found it relaxing to browse ebay with no real goal in mind. i was looking at a listing and was prompted to "check out the most watched" and my eye was drawn to that "superb" stock pot you see in the first photo. i love it! it sold for almost $200. i did a quick search for more by kaj frank for arabia and fell in love with that bowl with the mushroom and brocolli motif.

I love these! The shapes are by Kaj Franck and the illustrations are by Esteri Tomula ... she did many fabulous patterns for Arabia and Finel.

i have one of the mushroom bowls that my parents received as a wedding present!!! we always called it the popcorn bowl because it's perfect for popcorn :). i always loved it and was tickled when i looked it up and saw that it was actually a kind of iconic design. now i look for them everywhere...i'd love to have a bit of a collection! i've seen it will a set a small bowls as a salad set...now that would be a score. :)

i was lucky enough to inherit a couple of my grandmother's kaj franck arabia enamel pieces: the same mushroom salad bowl as above, and a stock pot with a fish motif on it - see if you can find one, the fish are grooovy!!

Hi Cathy,
There are some Finel bowls in pretty decent prices on Etsy too - also they pop up once every so often at local flea markets :)

Hi Cathy, I just found you thru Mollie Makes magazine. I just purchased it yesterday from B&Noble in Antioch CA. I LOVE the article they wrote about you. Now I get to go back and buy your book. So COOL! And I do love your blog. I'll be checking daily :)

Hi Cathy, I have the mushroom salad bowl from my childhood...it was well sought after between my sisters and I. Memories of our Mom! Linnaea
