i had to do a double take when i saw this cover of craft horizons as i thought is was a close up of something sheila hicks made. but it's actually by claire zeisler who i have become a big fan of. her work ranged from very large scale (above) to very small and delicate (below). the caption reads: "cotton lace, achieved by varying the fish net technique, entraps stone, producing an amulet-like object, 5" long).
Just scored a VG used copy of Beyond Craft: The Art Fabric (Constantine and Larson). SOOO happy.

I love the cotton lace entraps stone, it looks so organic like its just washed up on the sea shore, love it.
